Introduction
Restoring old file versions ensures flexibility, protects against errors, and provides a safety net for accidental changes or overwrites, especially in collaborative work. It helps trace progress, restore valuable content, and maintain control over your work.
Requirements
You need to have Place in your license to access this feature
Using the feature
To restore an earlier version of an asset, follow these steps:
- Navigate to Place
- Click on the asset you would like to restore an old version of and click on details in the top right corner of the sidebar
- Click on the 2 squares overlapping each other in the sidebar
- Click on the three dots next to the version you want to restore
- Select Restore in the drop down menu
- Click on restore in the pop-up window
- You have now restored the earlier version of the asset
Use example
- A marketing team wants to reuse an older version of an asset that performed well in a past campaign but has since been updated. Restoring the previous version saves time compared to re-creating or re-uploading the older file.
- A creative team experiments with multiple variations of an asset but later decides that a prior version is more aligned with the project’s goals. Restoring the preferred version streamlines the process of rolling back changes.
