How does the Optimizely Plus Provider work?

The Optimizely Plus Provider is implemented as a content provider. A content provider connects an Optimizely Content Management System (CMS) site to an external data source so that the data appears to be part of the CMS website, even though the data resides at the data source. What versions of Optimizely CMS is supported?

Optimizely CMS version 12 is the minimum supported version.

How is the Plus Provider installed?

The Plus Provider is added as a Nuget package to an existing Optimizely CMS project. Contact Plus for more information on installation and configuration.

Can I edit Papirfly images in Optimizely?

No, the content provider is currently read only meaning no changes can be done to the media files from within Optimizely. Any changes and formats needed should be prepared in Place.

What user access will my Optimizely CMS user have in Place?

Currently there is no connection between the user you are logged in with in Optimizely CMS and Place. The Plus Provider uses its own pre-configured user.

Are media files served from Place?

No, media files are downloaded and served by Optimizely CMS.

What quality/conversion of the media file is used?

For image files, the quality/conversion can be set in the configuration. For video files, the original is always used.

Can I use multiple conversions of the same media file?

No, currently only a single media quality can be configured.
