Introduction
The Mega menu structure will allow admins of Point to present information in the main menu in a much more clean and comprehensive way.
The menu comes with a new set of styling options which empowers a strong user experience and navigation between pages.
Activating the Mega menu
The mega menu is not part of how Point is normally set up, which means that it has to be activated before it can be used. The Mega menu is activated in the Page template builder.
Keep in mind that you need to have sufficient access right to be able to add the Mega menu to your Point. You need to be able to access Page admin. If you have this, follow these steps:
- Open Page admin
- Navigate to the Page template builder area of Page admin
- Choose a Page template where you would like to add the Mega menu
- The Mega menu needs to be added to every page template where you would like the menu to appear. If you want the Mega menu to appear on every single page in Point, you first need to add it to every single Page template that is currently being used in your Point.
- In the component list, you will be able to find the Mega menu option under Navigation, and is called New navigation
- Add the New navigation component into your Page Template and click Save
- You have now added Mega menu to your page template. The menu will show up on the pages that uses the Page template you added it to.
Mega menu settings
Once Mega menu is activated, it might be a good idea to run run through the settings and choose the settings best suited to your needs.
Here is an explanation to the different settings available:
Menu add-on
- Lets you preview images or titles on specific pages when hovering over the pages in the Mega menu. This allows you to quickly identify which page you are looking at.
Columns
- Select the number of columns you want to have in your Mega menu
Column align
- Allows you to decide if you want to have distributed (separated), grouped columns, Distributed or Grouped and Expanded.
Sticky menu
- Sticky menu allows the menu to be anchored to the screen so that you can have all the menu items at hand when scrolling through the pages. To implement Sticky menu, follow the steps in this article.
Global Search
- You can add a search icon to your menu which can act as a global search
- The search must be connected to a "Search View"
- You can configure the search to either
- Open the search view on click
- Open the search autosuggetestions modal
