Place - AND / OR Search

When searching and filtering for assets in Place, you can choose how multiple search criteria are combined, both for text entered and for some metadata filters. This flexibility makes it easier to control how broad or specific your search results are, helping you quickly narrow down large asset libraries or expand your search when you need to find a wider range of relevant content.

And / Or

Use AND when you want your results to match all of the criteria you have selected. For example, if you select the categories Shirts AND Blue, your results will only include assets that match both criteria.

Use OR when you want your results to match any of the selected criteria. As you add more filters, more potentially matching assets can be included in the results. For example, selecting Shirts OR Pants will return assets categorized as either Shirts or Pants.

Auto-Parsing (On / Off)

Auto-Parsing controls how text entered into the search field is interpreted. 

When Auto-Parsing is On, search terms separated by spaces are treated as individual search terms. This is particularly useful when combined with OR search. For example, you can paste several space-separated product numbers into the search field and search for all of them at the same time.

When Auto-Parsing is Off, the text entered into the search field is treated as a single search phrase.

Some of these options can also be used by 'standard' users when browsing assets in Point, where the relevant search and filtering options have been made available within 'Place View'.
