Place - Search Autosuggestions

Finding the right asset quickly is the whole point of a DAM — but the more assets you have, the harder that gets if search doesn't help you along the way. Autosuggestions and autocomplete in Place guide you toward the right result as you type, showing relevant terms, assets, and folders before you've even finished your search.

How it works

As you type into the search bar, a dropdown appears with two sections:

Asset & folder suggestions
You'll see the closest-matching assets and folders, shown visually with a thumbnail, title, and file type — so you can recognize what you're looking for at a glance, without needing to run a full search first.

Only assets and folders you have access to will ever appear in your suggestions. If a suggestion wouldn't return a result for you — because of business area, expiry, privacy settings, or folder permissions — it won't show up in the dropdown in the first place.

FAQ

Why don't I see a suggestion I expected?
Suggestions only show content you have permission to access. If an asset or folder exists but you can't see it in your suggestions, it's likely restricted by business area, expiry, or privacy settings.

Does this replace the main search results page?
No. Suggestions are a shortcut to help you get there faster. You can still press Enter or select "See all results" to run a full search and view the complete results page.
