This is a breakdown of the different options inside the Search view configurator.
Tabs
This allows you to select one or more major content groups to display in the search.
- Assets: Any approved file which is stored in Place.
- Pages: For setting up page search. Useful for news feeds, favorites, campaign feeds and other page related search feeds. (Separate guide for page search coming soon)
- Orderable: Legacy filter used for legacy Marketing Shop and Chili templates
- Documents: Approved documents from Produce
- Templates: Approved templates from Produce
Filter visual options
- Filter style: Use the classical left side menu for all your filters, or the new horizontal (top) view.
- Default sorting: What assets are listed first in the view and other search behavior. Relevance is the recommended option here.
- Expand categories: Expand the categories tab so the categories are immediately viewable.
- Expand subcategories: Expands the categories even further so you can see subcategories. Recommended for lighter category structures.
- Expand filters: Expands the filters tab so different filter options are immediately viewable.
- Use non-approved AI tags: Will allow users to see tags even if they are under the "certainty percentage" for AI auto approval.
- Show upload button: Users with upload rights to the connected Place archive will see an upload button and may deliver assets directly to this search.
Filterings
Allows you to turn on or off individual filter options for each of the tab types.
Important note about filter options and permissions
- Expired assets will only be visible in this search (assets which currently are not published due to the "publish date" or "expire date" in Place) if users have permission to view these.
- GDPR filter will only contain any filterable options if you use the Place GDPR application. Check out the GDPR guide for more information.
Hidden search (locked search pages)
This allows you to create locked search filters for your pages. Example, if you wish to have a search page which only allows users to see and search for a specific campaign. (Separate guide for locking search pages coming soon).
The Visual settings
At the top of the config window, you have the "Visual" tab. Click this to open visual settings for the Search view component.
Main
This section contains the major visual settings for the Search view.
- Header: Change the texts, inverse the text colors and select a background color or image.
- Display assets: How many assets are visible before users must click "Load more"
Pro tip: You may turn off the header. This allows you to use the Search view as a portion of a longer page, for example a campaign. If your page template contains a header carousel, the WYSIWYG editor and a Search view, you may build a full campaign page with manual editorial content, but also connect a locked search for additional content at the bottom. This way the automatically updated content flows nicely into your manually built page and you may use the normal header carousel to pride the page instead.
Pages
- Display: Use a large thumbnail or a simpler list view.
- Page description: Show a block of text under the title. Text is either taken from the "page admin" page description OR read from the first paragraph of the page.
Assets
Choose what details should be visible under the asset inside the search view.
