Introduction
The Search viewer lets your users access content across the Paprifly suite directly from Point, making it much easier for you to find and download your assets & content. Search view lets you automatically update pages with new assets when they are uploaded into place.
This guide will explain how to lock a search page to search on a narrowed down result.
Benefits
- Pre-filtered searches allow you to create unique pages to help guide users (trough navigation) to specific content.
- Pre-filtered searches allow you to have prefiltered results which are earmarked for specific campaigns, content types or other topics.
- This allows for automated publishing as long as your assets are tagged with applicable categories or other metadata which generates hits.
Requirements
- You must have (or create) a page which contains the "search view" component.
- You need edit level access on the page or in Point
- Some assets needs to be uploaded into place and added to the filters you wish to set on your page. To create and save a filter, you must be able to generate a result.
Before we show how to set a search filter, you might want to check this guide on how to setup a Search view page in Point.

What you must have done prior to continuing the steps is
- Create a page using the above guide
- Edit the settings once using the above guide
How to lock a page to a filter
- Enable edit mode
- While in edit mode, select all filters you wish to apply. Once you are happy with the search result, you can continue to save it. In this example, we wish to filter only on the global category "logo".
- Navigate down until you find the Search view settings cog. (component settings button is always at the bottom of the component)
- In this overview, you can adjust visible filters, naming of the header, how many assets to see at once, source archive and content types etc. We scroll all the way to the bottom to find "hidden search".
- Click "new filter"
- Immediately you see a new filter added. This filter contains your search. The page is still not locked as you need to click the 3 dots and select "set as default". This locks down the page so it can only display your search.
- Save the settings using the blue save button and your search is applied to the page.
You can see that your selected filters are greyed out and can not be de-selected. Any filters still applicable to your current result is still available. Users can narrow down the assets further as long as you have not disabled them in settings.
Nice to know
- Locked search can also be applied to pages. This allows you to make pages searchable, or you can select a filter to for example only pages assigned to the category "campaigns" to make a campaign news feed.
- You can select individual archives in your search along with the filter.
- Any filter option can be saved. This includes tags, text, local / global categories.
- If your result is small, sometimes you may want to disable filters so there is less information on the page. Check under "filterings" in settings to enable or disable different options.
