Introduction
The Automation module sets up automatic actions between campaign elements. You define triggers and actions; when a trigger occurs, the corresponding action is executed. This automates processes within Plan Campaigns.
Creating a new automation
To create a new automation, first ensure that you have sufficient access rights to do so. Follow these steps:
- Click on the cogwheel in the left hand sidebar, followed by Automations under Application settings.
- Click + Create new automation and you will be redirected to the automation settings page
- Basics: On the basics settings, enter the following information:
- Automation name: Enter the name of the automation
- Template: Enter the template in which the automation should apply to
- Sort order: Enter the list position of the automation. The lower the number, the higher on the list the automation will show
- Triggers: On the triggers settings, add either a group of conditions or specific conditions that will trigger to automation.
- What this means is that if one of the added conditions are met inside the campaign (for example if a button is checked or a specific number is added), the automation will be triggered.
- Interface changes: On the interface changes settings, change the access to selected sections or elements (View and edit, Read only or No access) for the user groups you choose when the automation is triggered (activated). You can also set a delay of 0 to 100 days.
- Value changes: On the value changes setting, decide if any of the data inside any existing fields of the campaign should change when the automation is triggered. Select the element and the new value. You can also set a delay of 0 to 100 days.
- As soon as you have adjusted all of the settings within the automation, click Save in the upper right corner to save the automation.
- You have now created a new automation
Adding an automation to a template
To add an automation to a template, follow these steps:
- Click on the cogwheel in the left hand sidebar, followed by Automations under Application settings
- Click Edit automation on the automation you would like to add to a specific template, or create a new one
- On the automation settings page (part of the automation creation process as seen above), select the template you would like to add it to under Template. Changing the template clears all trigger settings in the automation.
- After you have selected a template, remember to click Save in the upper right corner.
- You have now added an automation to a template
