Moving folders
Folders can be moved within the folder structure, allowing for flexible organization.
When you move a folder, it will automatically inherit the permissions of its new parent folder. This means:
- Inherited Permissions: The folder will adopt the access levels of the new location, in line with the inherited permissions structure.
- Original Access Retained: User groups who originally had access to the folder will retain their permissions in the new location. These user groups will also inherit permissions for the folder structure of the new location.
If you do not want the original user groups to keep their access in the new location, it’s best to remove their permissions before moving the folder. This will prevent them from inheriting the new parent folder’s permissions once moved.
