Facial Recognition in Papirfly helps you identify individuals across your asset archives. Combined with consent management tools, it allows you to quickly locate, review, and update assets that require consent - saving time and reducing risk.
This guide shows how to manually work with recognized faces to streamline your GDPR consent process.

Filter by Recognized Faces
Start by narrowing down assets related to a specific individual.
- Navigate to your archive
- Open the AI Detection filter
- Select the person’s name from the list of recognized faces
- You’ll see all assets where this individual appears
Use this to audit all content where someone appears and verify if consent is present.
Identify Assets Missing Consent
This filter can be used in conjunction with, or as an alternative route to identifying assets without consent.
To find assets that haven’t been linked to a session:
- Navigate to the GDPR filter
- Use the Sessions Filter
- Select “No session linked”
- This will display all assets that currently do not have consent connected
Bulk Tag Privacy Information
Once you’ve identified the relevant assets:
1. Select the assets in bulk
2. Click Edit > Privacy Information
3. Toggle on “This asset contains personal data”
This marks the assets as GDPR: Orange, which means they contain personal data but are not yet covered by a consent session. This ensures the assets are only viewable by administrators until all the adequate consent is gathered and attached, safeguarding the assets from being misused by others in the organization.
Attach Session & Person
Now, link the relevant session and person details to the assets:
1. In bulk edit mode, go to the Session field
2. Choose the correct session and associated person present in the assets
3. Save changes
Once linked & all consent is given, the asset will be marked as GDPR: Green, indicating it’s compliant and tied to a valid consent session. If also approved, it will now be available in your archive for others to view and see.
