Point - AI Image Generation

When you need a visual your archive doesn’t have, the usual options are briefing a designer or using a generic AI tool that knows nothing about your brand. AI image generation lets you turn your own approved images into reusable image styles, so new images reflect how your brand actually looks. You request images through the Brand Assistant, where you already go for brand guidance.

This feature is in limited beta.

Who can use it?

AI image generation is currently available as a limited beta. To find out more or ask about access, please contact your Customer Success Manager or account manager.

Once enabled:

  • Users with AIAdmin permission can create, edit and delete image styles in Portal Admin
  • Users with AIGen permission can view image styles and generate images in the Brand Assistant
  • Users only see styles built from archives they have permission to view

How AI image generation works

Creating an image style

Note: Each style needs 5 to 8 images from Place, all from the same archive.

  1. Open Portal Admin
  2. Select AI tools
  3. Click Create style
  4. Select 5 to 8 images from Place
  5. Wait for the analysis to finish Note: This takes up to 20 seconds. The AI writes a style description and picks out a colour palette from your images.
  6. Give the style a name
  7. Click Save

Your style is now available to users with AIGen permission in the Brand Assistant.

Testing a style

  1. Open the style in AI tools
  2. Describe the image you want
  3. Generate a preview Note: Two square previews appear, usually within about a minute. Previews are not saved.

Editing a style

You can change a style’s name, style description, colours and attributes. The style description is what guides generated images, so edit this if results don’t look right.

You can’t change the images a style is built from. To use different images, create a new style.

Generating images in the Brand Assistant

  1. Open the Brand Assistant
  2. Ask for an image The available styles appear as cards.
  3. Select a style A Style chip appears above the message box.
  4. Describe the image you want and send your message
  5. Download any images you want to keep Note: Generated images expire after about an hour, including in your chat history.

To refine an image, send a follow-up message. The Brand Assistant updates the last image in the same style.
