Are there certain filetypes that are not allowed to upload to Place?

Restricted file types

Place supports a wide range of file types for uploading and managing your brand assets.

For security reasons, some file types are blocked and cannot be uploaded to Place. The following extensions are currently restricted:

"exe", "app", "vb", "dll", "scr", "html", "htm", "sh", "js", "jsp", "php", "php5", "pht", "phtml", "shtml", "asa", "cer", "asax", "swf", "xap"

Controlling allowed file types

However, if you are an Admin user, you can further control which file types users are allowed to upload to an individual archive.

From the archive you want to configure:

1. Open Place settings from the left sidebar menu.
2. Under Archive settings, select Upload and Share.
3. Find Allowed extensions and select Edit.
4. Enable Allow some, then enter the file extensions you want to permit. If this is left toggled off, it will allow all compatible file types.
5. Select Save.
