Which file types are accepted for upload in Place?

Supported file types

Place supports a wide range of file types, allowing you to store and manage images, videos, documents, audio files and other brand assets in one place.

The supported formats are listed below by file type.

Note: While these file types can be uploaded to Place, preview and thumbnail generation may vary depending on the format. If a preview cannot be generated automatically, you can add a custom thumbnail manually. See our thumbnail user guide for more information.

Image files

Place supports the following formats:

• JFIF
• AVIF
• DPX

Video files

Place supports the following formats:

• WEBM
• MP4
• MPG (MPEG)
• AVI
• MOV
• WMV
• MKV
• M4V
• MTS
• VOB
• FLV

Vector and design files

Place supports the following formats:

• PDF
• SVG
• EPS
• PS
• AI
• WMF

Document files

For supported document formats, Place can generate a thumbnail using the first page or available content.

Word processing

• DOC/DOCX/DOCM
• DOT/DOTX/DOTM
• RTF
• ODT/OTT

Spreadsheets

• XLS/XLSX/XLSM/XLSB
• XLT/XLTX/XLTM
• ODS

Presentations

• PPT/PPTX/PPTM
• POT/POTX/POTM
• PPS/PPSX/PPSM
• ODP

Audio files

Place supports playback of the following audio formats:

• MP3
• WAV
• WMV
• M4A

Other supported formats

Place also supports:

• PSD
• RT

Unsupported files

For security reasons, some file types are blocked from being uploaded to Place.
