Introduction
The produce video template lets you add subtitles easily within the editor. This allows you to add subtitles on top of a video, making it easier to pick up what is being said in the video.
We have two methods for adding subtitles:
- Manually
- AI subtitles (automatically)
Requirements
- Produce license
- At least one video template
How to use - Manual subtitles
To add subtitles to a video template, follow these steps:
- Open a video template inside Produce
- Inside the editor, click on Subtitles in the menu to the left
- Click and drag the subtitle element into the timeline as seen below
- From here, adjust the duration of the subtitle as well as add the text that you want to be displayed (this is done within the preview - See "Hi, this is a subtitle" above)
- You can add several subtitle elements to the same video. Just click and drag more into the subtitle area within the timeline of the video editor
How to use - AI subtitles (automatic)
To add subtitles using AI, follow the steps below:
- Open a video template inside Produce
- Add a video in the editor that has voiceover
- Click on the video inside the editor, followed by Transcribe in the right hand menu
- You can also right-click on the video to select Transcribe
- You can also right-click on the video to select Transcribe
- Select transcription language and click Transcribe
- To add more languages, click on CC in the left hand sidebar and click Translate. After adding languages, you will be able to choose these languages under Transcribe as well.

- This will start adding subtitles automatically on top of the video inside the editor. Keep in mind that this might take some time depending on the length of the video
- Wait for the transcription process to finish
- Remember to proof-read the subtitles when it is done generating subtitles for you
Additional subtitle options
Translate
The translate button lets you add translations to all the subtitle elements used within the video.
View subtitles in
Lets you display the subtitles in one of the other languages you have translated the subtitles into.
Burn in language
Lets you permanently add the subtitles to the video. If you keep this disabled, the subtitles will instead be downloaded separately from the video. By enabling this feature, you might save time in the future as you won't have to add the subtitle file manually. The subtitles can be toggled on/off in most video players.
