Introduction
HTML Template Approvals enables HTML email documents created in Produce to be submitted directly into Plan approval projects.
This closes a major gap where email approvals were handled separately from broader marketing workflows.
Now, HTML emails can be reviewed, versioned, tracked, and approved alongside other campaign assets - creating one unified workflow, clearer visibility for project managers, and centralized feedback for reviewers.
How it works
1. Sending emails for approval
Only templates with Advanced workflow enabled can be sent to Plan
Users submit HTML documents manually to start the approval process
Submitted documents appear in Plan with Pending Review status, ready for reviewers

Users scroll to navigate the content
Only one size per template
HTML emails are responsive, so layout shifts between devices
Device switcher
To simulate how the email appears across devices:
A mobile / tablet / desktop switcher adjusts the screen width
Reviewers can switch views to check layout behavior
Users can leave separate comments and annotations per device type to ensure the email works across multiple screens

3. Versioning
If changes are requested, the Initiator edits the HTML in Produce and resubmits
Each submission creates a new version in Plan, allowing reviewers to compare changes
Switching versions to compare changes made on the review email document
