Managing icons across teams can quickly become messy, different versions, inconsistent colors, and unclear usage. To solve this, you can now organize icons with dedicated icon management functionality, all from one place.
Supported file types
- SVG is the primary and required upload format for icons Recoloring currently supports single-color
- SVG icons only at this time
This feature replaces the legacy SVG recoloring available in from the Point application.
Why use SVG icon categorization and recoloring?
- Create a dedicated space (archive or folder) for all your icons
- Clearly distinguish icons from illustrations or patterns
- Upload an icon once and download it in multiple colors, sizes, and formats
- Enforce brand consistency using predefined brand colors
- Reduce duplicate uploads and manual recoloring work
Categorizing your Icons
Set the SVG type when uploading a new asset, or use bulk edit to update existing SVGs You can also migrate from tags by bulk editing tagged assets and assigning them the Icon type.
When editing an SVG asset, you can assign it a type:
- Icon
- Illustration
- Pattern
Only assets categorized as Icon will support icon-specific functionality like recoloring.
Once categorized, icons can be filtered easily across the platform.
Set up brand colors (Admin only)
Icon recoloring is controlled at archive level.
Archive Administrators can
- Define approved brand colors using HEX values & CMYK
- Control which colors icons can be downloaded in
- Ensure consistent usage across teams and markets
These color settings apply to all icons within the archive.
Recolor and download icons
Once an SVG is categorized as an icon and brand colors are set:
Users can:
- Select an icon
- Choose an approved brand color
- Download the icon in:
- Multiple formats (e.g. SVG, PNG)
- Different sizes
- Digital or print color profiles
Unless a CYMK color code is provided, color conversion is handled automatically to support both digital and print use cases.
Using icons across the platform
Recolored icons are available wherever assets are used, including:
• Asset downloads
• Asset pickers
• Point components
• Produce documents
This ensures icons stay consistent no matter where they’re used.
