InDesign V10

This release consisted of these updates to the InDesign imported templates functionality in the Editor: 

• Excel sheet as data source for Variables: It is now possible to upload an Excel sheet and connect fields in it to populate the elements using the “Data Variables” functionality. 
   

  

  When creating a new variable it is possible to connect it to the uploaded Excel sheet by the edit pen button:

  

  It is also possible to select if you wish to generate one document per row existing in the attached Excel sheet via toggling this new setting to ON: 

  
   

• Toggleable "Fit Text to Frame": Automatic text scaling (multiline) within resizable frames.
   

• Paragraph Rules Support: You can now render specific paragraph rules defined in InDesign, such as lines drawn above (overline) or below (underline) a block of text.
   

• Configurable Image Selector: Template designers can now customize available image sources, such as Place, Document Images, and MyPlace Images.
  
  

These updates were made to the plugin in InDesign: 

• Support for Line Decorator in Element Manager
  Text decorations can now be defined to work on individual line lengths.

 

• Support for Paragraph Rules
  If a paragraph style has Paragraph Rules enabled this will be included in the export to Produce. However only one rule-type can be defined per Paragraph. That is, you can have a rule above or a rule below a paragraph, but you cannot have both.

• Error check for units
  If a template type is set to graphic, the measurement units must be pixels. If not, a warning is generated.
  
   

  

   

   

• Disable QR code margin
  QR codes generated by Produce automatically include a 4-module buffer zone. This can be disabled by checking the box on element manager.
