This release focuses on making search and filtering in Place more consistent, and refreshes the uploader to match the rest of the Papirfly experience.
Smarter, More Consistent Filtering
We've refreshed how filtering works and looks in Place, so results are more predictable and the most useful filters are easier to find.
What's new:
- Filters that can only have one value per asset (like file extension or orientation) now work as "either/or" — for example, choosing .jpg or .png shows assets in either format, since a file can only ever be one or the other.
- Filters from different filter groups always narrow results together, so combining Categories with File Extension gives a more precise result.
- The search field is now already expanded, allowing typing to start right away — helping speed up search.
- Filter options that don't match the current selection stay visible (just disabled) instead of disappearing, making clear they still exist even though they don't match the current configuration. This avoids empty-looking filter groups and confusion about why nothing shows up.
- Tabs are reordered to reflect how they're most commonly used — Categories now come first, since they're by far the most-used filter group.
- Categories now have their own dedicated tab, with Global and Local Categories shown side-by-side. Assets without a category have moved to the bottom of the Categories tab, but remain fully visible.
- Bolded matching text now appears throughout search results, not just in Categories, making it easier to spot why an item matched.
- Manual and AI-generated tags are now grouped together under one Tags tab.
- File size can now be filtered using a flexible range, and a new schema filter has been added.
- Uploads from the logged-in account owner are now pinned to the top of the Uploader filter list.
- Permission-related settings have moved to a new, dedicated Settings tab.
- Various other minor visual tweaks and cleanups have been made throughout the filter panel.
Why it matters: Results now match what was actually selected, making the filters easier to trust.
Refreshed Uploader
The Place uploader has been visually refreshed to match the rest of the Papirfly product experience, with clearer visibility during editing and uploading.
What's new:
- Updated visuals and components bring the uploader in line with the rest of Papirfly.
- When editing multiple assets at once, the preview now clearly shows that a batch is being edited, not just one asset.
- Asset details are now split into separate Information and Categories tabs, so Categories are easy to reach without scrolling.
- The upload progress bar now pauses if an asset needs attention (for example, resolving a duplicate) or hits an error, clearly signaling when action is needed.
