Using QR Codes in Produce Templates
QR codes are a simple way to connect printed materials to online content, such as websites, landing pages, forms or product information.
What template modules support QR Codes?
QR codes can be added to all Produce template modules, although they are most commonly used in print templates. For digital content, a clickable link may be more suitable.
Can users edit the QR code?
Yes, a template can include an editable field where users enter a URL. The QR code will then update automatically. It can also be fixed if the destination should not be changed via the locking controls.
The example below shows a QR code linked to a URL entered in the side panel.
What is the recommended size for a QR Code?
For print, we recommend a minimum size of 2 × 2 cm.
Larger formats, such as posters or roller banners, may need a bigger QR code because audiences will scan them from further away. Always test the code at its final size before publishing.
What characters or glyphs are supported in QR Codes?
The Produce supports UTF-8, which includes all standard English letters, numbers, and punctuation. Please note that not all scanners fully support UTF-8.
Can the colors of the QR code be changed?
Yes, the QR code color, background color and background opacity can all be adjusted. For reliable scanning, use strong contrast, ideally a dark code on a light, plain background.
Can we add brand logos within QR Codes?
Yes this is supported, however it may reduce the overall character length of the QR Code message.
