Assets stored in Place may become unavailable if they are revoked, expired, or deleted. Here's how Produce handles these assets in templates, existing documents, and generated content.
What is the difference between revoked and expired assets?
- Revoked assets: Assets that no longer have valid consent and do not meet GDPR requirements.
- Expired assets: Assets that have passed their expiry date set in Place.
- Deleted assets: Assets that have been removed from Place.
Can revoked, expired, or deleted assets still be used in Produce?
No. These assets are automatically excluded from search results when using the asset selector in Produce, preventing users from selecting them for new documents.
What happens to existing Produce documents containing these assets?
If an asset used in an existing document is revoked, expired, or deleted in Place:
- A warning will appear in the Produce Launcher to highlight the affected document.
- When the document is opened for editing, the unavailable asset will automatically be removed from its image element.
- Users can select a replacement asset and save the document to update it.
What happens to assets already generated from these documents?
If a generated asset contains content that has since been revoked, expired, or deleted in Place, its download and sharing options will be disabled. These options will remain unavailable until the original Produce document has been updated and saved again.
Are the Produce documents or generated assets automatically deleted?
No. Existing Produce documents and their generated assets are not automatically deleted when an asset from Place becomes unavailable.
