Introduction
Mailchimp is the leading platform in marketing and transactional email distribution. Their robust support of industry standards and reliable service make for an exciting combination with HTML emails created using Produce and the Papirfly platform.
With the Mailchimp integration, HTML generated from email documents can be uploaded as a Mailchimp template with all the images hosted by Mailchimp. Using the Mailchimp platform, users can add distribution lists and other customizations to send the email to thousands of recipients, with all the brand governance and managed assets from Papirfly.
Requirements
Set up
Before you can start using the Mailchimp integration in the Produce application, you will need to get in touch with us at Papirfly to enable the service on your customer portal and link the Mailchimp app integration to your portal's specific URL. Please get in touch with your customer success manager or solution specialists to have them set this up.
Sending an email to Mailchimp
Once you have completed an email document and it is ready for download and sharing, follow these steps:
- Click the Share all button from the document detail view.
- Select Send to MailChimp from the share options menu.
- If you haven't authenticated the integration with Mailchimp previously, you'll need to connect your Mailchimp account by entering your credentials.
- Fill in the template name (this will be the name of the template in the Mailchimp platform), and then click Send to initiate the transfer.
- After the process is complete, you'll be able to click through to the Mailchimp template list and see your email template.
Disconnecting your Mailchimp account
To disconnect your Mailchimp account, simple initiate the sharing action again to Mailchimp and click the Disconnect button.

How does authentication with Mailchimp work?
Mailchimp authentication works on per user basis. You will be asked to authenticate again after 30 days after using the service for the first time.
Are my credentials saved and shared with other users on the portal?
Credentials are stored for 30 days from when you use the service, after which you will be prompted to authenticate again. Your authentication and credentials are not shared or used by other users.
Is there a log of emails sent to Mailchimp?
Yes! This is recorded in the history tab under each document's detail.
Where are images stored in Mailchimp?
Images associated with the email template are stored in a folder of the same name under My Files.
Can I manage my Mailchimp email templates and images from Papirfly?
No, this is entirely managed by the Mailchimp platform.
