An email design built in Produce goes for approval the same way any other Produce material does. It is sent from Produce itself, with no file to export and upload.
The setup and the send
The work is done once, on the template, and then every email made from it goes for review on its own. The steps are in Getting Produce material into an approval project:
- In the email template's Settings, on the Workflows tab, choose Advanced and select the Plan approval project.
- Create the email from the template and save it. It starts at In progress.
- Select it in Documents, open Approval, click Generate assets, then Request review.
What is different about email
An email is judged as a rendered design, so the review works like an image review: the approver sees the preview, comments on it, and can pin a comment to a spot in the layout. There is no timeline, unlike video, and no metadata to review.
Because the approval is tied to the template rather than the send, approval covers the design that was submitted. Content changed after approval produces a new version and a new review, so approve last rather than first.
Getting it approved
- Commenting and pinning feedback on material under review
- Approving and rejecting material in an approval project
- Fixing material an approver has sent back
Once the approver approves it, the document reaches Ready in Produce and the final assets can be downloaded and sent.
