March 2026 - Place Release

This release focuses on improving the usability, performance, and clarity of the Place DAM experience.

Based on customer feedback, we’ve streamlined archive navigation, asset detail, and settings to make everyday tasks faster and more intuitive for both end users and administrators.

Archive & Asset Detail Redesign

We’ve redesigned the archive and asset detail experience to simplify navigation, editing, and asset management.

What’s new:

• Archive and folder names are now clearly displayed 
• Statuses and labels are consistent across views 
• Editing is streamlined into a single Information section 
• Improved save behavior: 
  • Save button only appears where required 
  • Other sections now auto-save 
  • Warning shown when navigating away with unsaved changes 
• Bulk actions now appear only when assets are selected 
• Filters and action menus have been simplified 
• Faster response times across the interface

Additional updates:

Reduced number of tabs Metadata moved under “More” Location information moved into the Information section

Place Settings Restructure

The Place Settings area has been reorganized to improve usability and support future scalability.

What’s new:

• Improved layout of settings 
• More logical grouping of features 
• Better structure for future configuration options

Facial Recognition Improvements

Facial recognition filters now display a thumbnail image for each detected person.

What’s new:

• Thumbnail shown alongside detected names 
• Automatically selects the most suitable image

This helps users identify individuals faster and more confidently.

Request to Download (RTD) Updates

Validation for Supported File Types

RTD can now only be enabled for supported file formats, preventing configuration issues.

Supported formats:

jpg, png, tif, bmp, webp, dpx, heic, avif, jfif, emf, zip

This change applies to new configurations only.

ZIP File Support

RTD now supports ZIP files.

What’s new:

ZIP files can be configured with RTD Lock icon displayed when RTD is enabled Thumbnails reflect RTD status
