June 2026 – Place (Customize Asset)

This release makes asset customization visual and permission-driven, and improves reliability for PowerPoint uploads and permanent deletion.

Customize Assets Directly on the Image

Asset customization is now visual, showing the result before anything is saved — removing the need to guess at crop dimensions in a settings panel.

What's new:

• A new "Customize Asset" option allows selecting a predefined crop or defining a custom one, with a live preview
• All edits are now generated from the original master file rather than a transcoded copy, removing the previous quality risk
• Available actions depend on existing permissions — no new setup required:
  • Download the customized version for one-off use (download permission)
  • Save it as a new shared variant for others to use (manage variants permission)
  • Generate a shareable link (direct link permission)

Why it matters: You can now create and preview a crop the same way you'd expect from any visual editor, and every export comes from the highest-quality source available.

Important notes: You'll only see the options your permissions allow, for example, if you only have download access, you'll see just the download option.

More Reliable PowerPoint Uploads

PowerPoint (PPTX) file processing has been improved, so more presentations convert successfully and faster.

What's new:

• Large or slide-heavy PPTX files that previously failed to preview now convert successfully
• PPTX files no longer queue behind each other — conversions happen independently, so one slow file won't cause others to time out

Important notes: This change only affects PowerPoint files. Word and Excel document processing is unchanged.
 

Faster Permanent Delete

Permanently deleting assets is now near-instant.

What's new:

• The screen responds immediately when Permanent Delete is clicked, with the deletion completing in the background
• Delete failures previously caused by timeouts or server errors are resolved

Important notes: The delete workflow and required permissions are unchanged — it's simply faster and more reliable.
